In Memory of Jessie Askew and her gracious service to God and our Community, the Lynchburg/Central Virginia Emmaus Board has established a scholarship fund.

This fund is designed to provide financial assistance to those Pilgrims and Team members who require it for Walk participation.

If you are interested in providing a contribution to the fund, please contact the Community Lay Director or the Treasurer.

About Jessie:

Jessie Louise Askew came to Lynchburg in the 1960's. Jessie was active in her church first in Lynchburg and later in Evington UMC. Jessie walked on L/CVA #10 and sat at the table of Bountiful Blessings.

Once Jessie walked, she began sponsoring, working behind the scenes and in the talk room. She was an encourager to all who knew her. She encouraged everyone to be a part of a reunion group and participate in the gatherings and weekends. She encouraged us to sponsor others and if we could not financially do it alone, she would make suggestions or find co-sponsors to help.
